Hydrometer, necessary tool for measuring the specific weight of the antifreeze solution present in the system; also useful for determining the antifreeze concentration and the freezing point of the ethylene glycol solution.
Warning: the reading must be performed at room temperature.
Refractometer, practical tool needed to determine the freezing point, the concentration of monoethylene and monopropylene antifreeze, battery acid or other more or less concentrated solutions of food and non-food liquids, available on the market.
Calibrate the instrument with distilled water by adjusting the calibration screw. Insert a few drops of antifreeze to be analyzed and check the detected value of the freezing temperature or concentration through the eyepiece.
